Association of American Universities (AAU): Campus Community Service Directory
The Association of American Universities (AAU) provides an online, 2010 directory of community service and outreach programs at its member universities.

Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU): University Engagement
This APLU webpage provides a definition of university engagement as well as papers related to APLU’s statement on engagement.

APLU Council on Engagement & Outreach
APLU Council activities include: outreach; engagement; extended education; public and government relations; and regional and economic development. Benchmark Tools for Institutionalization of Engagement are also provided.

Australian Universities Community Engagement Alliance (AUCEA)
AUCEA is a not-for-profit organization committed to fostering university-community engagement throughout Australia and the Asia Pacific region.

Campus Compact
This national coalition of more than 1,100 college and university presidents (representing some 6 million students) is dedicated to campus-based civic engagement, including public and community service that develops students’ citizenship skills; and effective campus-community partnerships. Its website provides a variety of resources, as well as training for faculty who wish to integrate civic and community-based learning into their curriculum. Some of these resources are noted below.

Campus Compact: Thomas Ehrlich Civically Engaged Faculty Award
This award recognizes one senior faculty member (post-tenure or middle-to-late career at institutions without tenure) each year.

Campus Compact: TRUCEN (The Research University Civic Engagement Network)
TRUCEN works to advance civic engagement and engaged scholarship among research universities and create resources and models for use across higher education. Some of its resources include: models of civic engagement initiatives; toolkits; and information on events.

Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching: Community Engagement Elective Classification
Information about the classification and a list classified institutions.

Clearinghouse & National Review Board for The Scholarship of Engagement
The Clearinghouse for the Scholarship of Engagement sponsors the National Review Board for the Scholarship of Engagement; provides consultation, training, and technical assistance to campuses in support of the scholarship of engagement; conduct forums, programs, and regional conferences; and provides a faculty mentoring program. Its website also provides Readings; links to other organizations (Resources); information on Evaluation Criteria for the Scholarship of Engagement, and Benchmarking Engaged Institutions.

Community-Based Research Canada
CBRC is a network of people and organizations engaged in community-based research to meet the needs of people and communities. It is coordinated through the Office of Community Based Research, University of Victoria, BC. The website provides various resources, both Canadian and international, including: documents; videos, websites, and discussion groups.

Community-Campus Partnerships for Health (CCPH)
This network of over 2,000 communities and campuses collaborates to promote health through service-learning, community-based participatory research, broad-based coalitions, and other partnership strategies. The website provides a variety of resources such as information on conferences and awards, as well as reports and tools.

Community University Engagement
The Community University Engagement initiative focuses on democracy and higher education. Its website provides lists of suggested readings and related journals; sample practitioner profiles; links to other organizations; the opportunity to share “stories” of democracy in action; and links to several blogs (Blogroll). 

Imagining America: Artists and Scholars in Public Life
This consortium of colleges and universities supports public scholarship and practice, and aims to strengthen the public role and democratic purposes of the humanities, arts, and design. Recognizing the reciprocal benefits of community-based scholarship and practice, it promotes the valuing and rewarding of knowledge and art created through public collaboration. 

National Forum on Higher Education for the Public Good, Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education
The National Forum promotes increased awareness, understanding, commitment, and action in support of higher education serving the US’s diverse democracy.

New England Resource Center for Higher Education, University of Massachusetts Boston
NERCHE supports collaborative change processes in higher education to address social justice in a diverse democracy. It annually awards the Ernest A. Lynton Award for the Scholarship of Engagement for Early Career Faculty, which recognizes a faculty member who connects his or her teaching, research, and service to community engagement.

Talloires Network
The Talloires Network is an international association of institutions committed to strengthening the civic roles and social responsibilities of higher education. Its secretariat is shared between Innovations in Civic Participation (ICP) and the Tisch College of Citizenship and Public Service at Tufts University. Its website provides a list of its members; Higher Education and Civic Engagement Resources; and information on conferences and events. 

University Professional & Continuing Education Association (UPCEA), Outreach and Engagement Community of Practice
The UPCEA assists institutions of higher learning and affiliated nonprofit organizations to increase access via various educational programs and services and provides national leadership in support of policies that advance workforce and professional development.

UPCEA’s Outreach and Engagement Community of Practice (CoP) is concerned with the mutual exchange of intellectual resources and expertise between the university and the broader external community (including government agencies, business, non-profit organizations, community groups, and individuals).

UPCEA Outreach and Engagement Community of Practice: Recognition of Excellence Award for Innovations in Outreach and Engagement

The Outreach and Engagement CoP annually organizes a Recognition of Excellence Award for Innovations in Outreach and Engagement (OE).

The CoP website also provides a Knowledge Bank, including resources such as:  Partners in Change Through Outreach and Engagement, which includes: University Partner Resources; Community Partner Resources; and Faculty Resources.
